Barack Hussein Obama: Once a Muslim, Always A Muslim

Many months ago, readers began asking me whether Barack Obama is Muslim. Since he identifies as a Christian, I said, "no," and responded that he was not raised by his Kenyan father.

But, then, I decided to look further into Obama's background. His full name--as by now you have probably heard--is Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Hussein is a Muslim name, which comes from the name of Ali's son--Hussein Ibn Ali. And Obama is named after his late Kenyan father, the late Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., apparently a Muslim.

And while Obama may not identify as a Muslim, that's not how the Arab and Muslim Streets see it. In Arab culture and under Islamic law, if your father is a Muslim, so are you. And once a Muslim, always a Muslim. You cannot go back. In Islamic eyes, Obama is certainly a Muslim. He may think he's a Christian, but they do not.

Then, there are the other items in his background. As best-selling author Scott Turow wrote in Salon, Obama went to a Muslim school for two years in Indonesia. His mother, Anna, married an Indonesian man (likely another Muslim, as Indonesia is Muslim-dominated and has the largest Islamic population in the world).

And Obama has a "born-again" affinity for the nation of his Muslim father, Kenya, and his Kenyan sister. (Although Kenya is largely Christian, it has a fast-growing Muslim population that has engaged in a good deal of religious violence and riots against Christians. And Kenyan courts will apply Sharia law, when the participants are Muslim.) Wrote Turow:

Obama's father died in a traffic accident in Nairobi in 1982, but while Obama was working in Chicago, he met his Kenyan sister, Auma, a linguist educated in Germany who was visiting the United States. When she returned to Kenya in 1986 to teach for a year at the University of Nairobi, Obama finally made the trip to his father's homeland he had long promised himself. There, he managed to fully embrace a heritage and a family he'd never fully known and come to terms with his father, whom he'd long regarded as an august foreign prince, but now realized was a human being burdened by his own illusions and vulnerabilities.

So, even if he identifies strongly as a Christian, and even if he despised the behavior of his father (as Obama said on Oprah); is a man who Muslims think is a Muslim, who feels some sort of psychological need to prove himself to his absent Muslim father, and who is now moving in the direction of his father's heritage, a man we want as President when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?

Is that even the man we'd want to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, if Hillary Clinton offers him the Vice Presidential candidacy on her ticket (which he certainly wouldn't turn down)?

NO WAY, JOSE . . . Or, is that, HUSSEIN?

2007-01-30 [WDC News Post] WASHJan 25DJNSAssociated Press has revealed that Senator Barack Hussein Obama, Democratic candidate for President of the United States, attend a Catholic school in Indonesia registered as a Muslim, further clouding the issue of where Obama was schooled in Indonesia and when. Obama, by his own admission in books that he has written, has said that he attended a Catholic school and a Muslim school while living in Indonesia with his atheist mother and Muslim stepfather. But now that Fox News reported that Obama may have been indoctrinated in Islamic teachings while attending the Muslim school in Indonesia , he and his handlers have gone spinning the story to the news media, and their stories do not match up.

Obama is claiming that the allegations by Fox are scurrilous and that he believes people recognize that the notion that me going to school in Indonesia for two years at a public school there at the age of 7 and 8 is probably not going to be endangering in some way the people of America. Associated Press is reporting that the Muslim school Obama attended is a public school, open to people of all faithsthis according to the spokesman for Indonesias Ministry of Religious affairs who goes only by the name of Sutopo. Records show that Obama attended a Catholic school first and then the Muslim school. When he was ten years old, he moved to Hawaii and attended a private secular school.

There are many holes in Obamas story. First, if he attended the Muslim school when he was seven and eight, which school did he attend when he was nine and ten, if he first attended the Catholic school? There appears to be a gap in his education or a miscommunication about what school he attended and when he attended it. Associated Press reports that Obamas mother relocated to Indonesia from 1967-71 after marrying Obamas Muslim step-fatherwho Obama claims was no longer Muslim, but an atheist. The Catholic school, Fransiskus Assisis, where Obama first attended school, enrollment documents, however, show Obama enrolled as a Muslim, the religion of his stepfather.

Obamas spokesman Robert Gibbs says he isnt sure why the Catholic school document had Obama listed as a Muslim. Gibbs told AP, Senator Obama has never been a Muslim. While the spokesman is denying that Obama was never a Muslim, Obama, himself, has not publicly said he was never and is not now a Muslim.

What can Americans expect of a Muslim-educated Obama? AP writes of its interviews at the Muslim school in Indonesia, Those tied to the school say they are proud to have had a student like Obama, and hope that, if he is elected president, his ties to Indonesia will broaden his world perspective and his views on religion. Indonesia is home to some of the most radical Islamic schools in the world. And Obamas identity is yet to be revealed as the confusing doubletalk hides the real Barack Hussein Obama, Democratic candidate for President of the United States .

"Rev." Jeremiah Wright, Former Muslim

A reader from Free Republic has dug up an old article last year (March 07) From TNR about Obama. It was written by Ryan Lizza, Senior editor at The New Republic. Its a biographical piece, but in the article, it explicitly states that Jeremiah Wright is a former Muslim.

From Wright and others, Obama learned that part of his problem as an organizer was that he was trying to build a confederation of churches but wasnt showing up in the pews on Sunday. When pastors asked him the inevitable questions about his own spiritual life, Obama would duck them uncomfortably. A Reverend Philips put the problem to him squarely when he learned that Obama didnt attend services. It might help your mission if you had a church home, he told Obama. It doesnt matter where, really. What youre asking from pastors requires us to set aside some of our more priestly concerns in favor of prophesy. That requires a good deal of faith on our part. It makes us want to know just where youre getting yours from.

After many lectures like this, Obama decided to take a second look at Wrights church. Older pastors warned him that Trinity was for Buppiesblack urban professionalsand didnt have enough street cred. But Wright was a former Muslim and black nationalist who had studied at Howard and Chicago, and Trinitys guiding principleswhat the church calls the Black Value Systemincluded a Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness.

The crosscurrents appealed to Obama. He came to believe that the church could not only compensate for the limitations of Alinsky-style organizing but could help answer the nagging identity problem he had come to Chicago to solve. It was a powerful program, this cultural community, he wrote, one more pliant than simple nationalism, more sustaining than my own brand of organizing.

As a result, over the years, Wright became not only Obamas pastor, but his mentor. The title of Obamas recent book, The Audacity of Hope, is based on a sermon by Wright. (Its worth noting, however, that, while Obamas book is a coolheaded appeal for common ground in an age of political polarization, Wrights sermon, The Audacity to Hope, is a fiery jeremiad about persevering in a world of nuclear arms and racial inequality.) Wright is one of the first people Obama thanked after his Senate victory in 2004, and he recently name-checked Wright in his speech to civil rights leaders in Selma, Alabama.

So the question is, why hasnt anyone mentioned the fact that hes a former Muslim? Could this be why Obamas church posted a Hamas manifesto in the Trinity Church program last year? It obviously explains Wrights affinity with Louis Farrakhan. It also explains more why Rev. Wright got his Masters degree in Islam in West Africa

This is just another blow to the Obama campaign. The American people are not ready to hand the reigns to someone whos associations are beyond sketchy.

Some people are saying that Obama is teflon and now I'm starting to believe it. When all of this stuff about Obama's preacher first came out it looked like it had done irreparable harm to his campaign but now it's like it all never happened and more and more people are getting on board Obama's ship to the White House. Can nothing stop him?

Don't worry, you have to have faith in the American People. The ones blowing wind into Obama's sails right now are the far-far left and the evening news. Once people can compare and contrast a man like John Mc Cain, who, for all his faults, is man of true character and grit and who has dedicated his life to America, versus the lightweight, America-hating, black-racism spouting hack politician Obama.

The common man can see through the smoke and lies of the news media. Perhaps this will be the slap in the face that finally brings them back to reality. But probably not.

I guarantee you, Obama will never be POTUS.

Barrack Hussein Obama is a Christian, however, he does have sympathy for Muslims. He attended a Muslim school at one point and was raised Muslim until the age of 7. He does believe in Christianity, but loosely, in that he follows almost none of its doctrines and endorses an extremely anti-Christian political agenda which advocates for abortion, euthanasia, and gay marriage.

Also, as for your faith in the American people, there are many good hearted Conservatives who backed the Republican Party and John McCain, however, there were alot more blind idiots with "white guilt" or completely blind hatred for George W. Bush, who decided to vote for Obama and his defamation of American tradition. "Change We Can Believe In".... Change for the worst.

obama is not a true muslim because in islam it is punishable by death to renounce your faith.

your subject should if anything should read "once a jew, always a jew" (got this from Aish.com rabbi)

a muslim is not a race group and one can renounce islam at any given time and in no way will he/she be part of the ummah...

all this hatred for obama makes me wish that he does in fact do and admit everything that fox libels him with

your subject should if anything should read "once a jew, always a jew "Why would that be appropriate when the subject matter is Obama? Obama is not a Jew but if that statement is true then we as Christians worship a Jew, Rabbi Jesus.

I myself do not believe that Obama is a Moslem and I'll withhold an opinion as to whether he'll be soft on Radical Moslems until he is in office for a while. People have a tendency to change somewhat when they get into the White House.


I am against his support of abortion especially late term. As Christians we know that abortion is murder.


Let us all pray for our next President that God will lead him to make the right decisions.

I personally think that Barack HUSSEIN Obama is just a Black Liberation (Marxist) "Christian". I don't think that Obama would be able to profess his "Christian" faith to the face of Muslims. Coward.

If Obama wants to unify the country there are two thing he better not do. Don't screw with our free speech by instituting any kind of "Fairness Doctrine" and don't screw with our right to bear arms.

Well NCP, if the first 3 months are any indication, there will be leftist overreach on all fronts. I think that as of this writing, we are beginning to see the coalescence of some push-back from conservatives and "blue-dog" democrats. Pray for 41 votes in the Senate. Pray for the future of your country. Obama will bankrupt us all.

The first three months of the Obama administration will go down in history as the biggest, most brazen power-grab in American History. Obama is a left-wing radical through and through. Fortunately, he is showing many signs of incompetence and many people are beginning to see through his demagoguery.

Down with Obama!
