Why Barack Obama's choice of Ingrid Mattson of ISNA to offer a prayer at his inauguration festivities is so unwise -- or worse:

Barack Obama isnt wasting any time making an impression: he has selected the leader of a group that has been named an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case to present a prayer during his inauguration festivities. Ingrid Mattson, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), will offer a prayer at the National Cathedral Tuesday.


Superficially, Obamas choice is understandable: Ingrid Mattson is a Canadian convert to Islam who has carefully cultivated the image of a moderate spokesperson. Yet her organizations record is not entirely clean. Federal prosecutors last summer rejected claims that ISNA was unfairly named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror funding case. And ISNA has even admitted ties to the Moslem Brotherhood and Hamas, complaining only that the governments evidence for those ties came from old documents, but offering no proof that the organization had reversed course.

In a memorandum on the Moslem Brotherhoods strategy in the United States, a Moslem Brotherhood operative named ISNA as an allied organization in what it called a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allahs religion is made victorious over all other religions.

The Irgun "National Military Organization in the Land of Israel" was a militant Zionist group that operated in Palestine between 1931 and 1948. It was established as a militant offshoot of the earlier and larger Jewish paramilitary organization Haganah (Hebrew: "The Defense"???) For reasons of secrecy, people often referred to the Irgun, during that time, as Haganah Bet (Hebrew: literally "Defense 'B' " or "Second Defense".

The Irgun was the armed expression of the nascent ideology of Revisionist Zionism founded by Ze'ev Jabotinsky. He expressed this ideology as "every Jew had the right to enter Palestine; only active retaliation would deter the Arabs and the British; only Jewish armed force would ensure the Jewish state" Over time the focus of their actions shifted from the Palestinian Arabs to the British.

Obama is unwise to say the least. He is a victim of the same old mindset that has permeated the ruling classes in this country for the past 40 years.

The mindset which says "Why those muslims are just like everybody else, all they want is a house in the suburbs, a Wal-Mart and 2.1 kids and a chicken in every pot. Why they are just like US !"

The "logic" behind this mindset then leads directly to the next fallacy, which is: "Why the MODERATE muslims are just like everybody else, all they want is a house in the suburbs, etc. etc., it's that TINY MINORITY OF RADICAL EXTREMIST muslims who have hijacked a great RELIGION OF PEACE in order to commit thier evil, balh, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda. . . "

It is for this reason that Obama is dangerous. That plus his ridiculous Jimmy-Carterish "I'll just talk them into being reasonable" stance and his callow naivete, make it doubly or triply dangerous for him to go sleepwalking blindfolded into the minefield of the Middle East.

The Muslims will see him as weak and malleable, and they will be right.  The United States will pay for his oafish naivete in the blood of innocents murdered by Islamic Terror. Mark my words.
