Vishwa Hindu Parishad [VHP, World Hindu Council] has demanded total ban on conversion in the country. A resolution to this effect was adopted at the inaugural session of the two-day second Dharma Sansad [religious assembly] that began here on Saturday [18 February].
The VHP also adopted three more resolutions on infiltration of Bangladeshi nationals into India, alleged indulgence of Christian missionaries and non-government organizations in conversion activities, evoking quota system of the Hindu scheduled caste and scheduled tribe converting to Christianity and Islam.
The first resolution said: "Laws should be made banning conversion in the country. The parliament and legislative assemblies of all the state should pass laws prohibiting conversion and making provision for stringent punishment to the people indulging in such act." On infiltration, the resolution said: "Hundreds of Bangladeshi nationals are illegally entering into the country every year. This is a serious threat to the country's integrity and security. Hence, the union government should make efforts to stop it forthwith."
Obviously Hinduism is threatened by the mass conversion of it's lower "castes," and in an odd-bedfellows gesture, reaching out to the muslims who feel the same way about "apostasy."
Generally speaking, Hinduism is not as pernicious as Islam by a long-shot, but it is Pagan in it's conception, and therefore equally or more anachronistic than the 7th Century barbarism called Islam.
I agree that persecution of Christians anywhere is an offense, but I see this as relatively minor compared with the outrages committed by the muslims.
That is true Martel. The Hindus don't want to violently take over the world or make Christians their slaves but for these radicals to try and stop people from converting and persecuting, even murdering converts cannot go unchallenged. By far Islam is the greater threat but our Party must speak out against all persecution of Christians whether it comes from Communists, Muslims, Hindus, or Jews.
